ROLF SPECTACLES

ROLF started in 2009 as a project in a cellar in the small Austrian town of Lechaschau, where the first spectacles were designed and constructed. Instead of high-tech, a milking machine and a living room table were used to press the first frame samples. Afterwards they were put into form with altered motorcycle brakes.
Today the family business grows steadily, and in order to maintain the highest technological standards, it keeps investing in new methods. This combination of nostalgic craftsmanship enables the production of high-end frames, produced by trained spectacle-lovers in the mountains of Tirol.

ROLF Spectacles combines elegant frame design with special materials, innovative technologies as well as premium craftsmanship. Tradition and a high appreciation for our product is our main focus. The high-end light frames made from wood, stone, horn and titanium are being created in Tyrol, Austria. The focal point of ROLF Spectacles has always been to implement new ideas and to set trends in the world of eyewear.
No screws, no solder joints – the new FLEXLOCK hinges: excellent for different materials! This clever and functional construction has prompted ROLF to explore a new realm of materials. Besides our established wooden, stone and horn frames we have extended our portfolio with printed titanium frames. A harmonic transition from frame to temple builds on the design standards from our existing collections. The new technology, however, creates new opportunities that would not have been possible before.
