ROLF SPECTACLES
ROLF Spectacles is a small, family-run business in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps producing incomparable eyewear from natural materials. The company was founded in 2009 by Roland and Marija with their siblings Martin and Christian. The initial creative process was improvised and highly experimental, using a milking machine, moped brakes and a coffee table.
Through trial and error, the founders developed a special glazing system to insert lenses into inflexible materials without cutting through the frame. The one-of-a-kind wooden hinge is made entirely of wood, without screws or metal parts.
Fresh Shapes
Take fine wood and mix it with excellent design. Always a feast for the eyes. ROLF Spectacles will be unveiling its newest wood eyewear at SILMO 2016. “Traction” and “Genie” are the most recent additions to the excellence collection, while “Admiral”, “Landaulet” and “Snipe” are the latest frames out of the ROLF evolved collection.
Green Design Award
The Duett 93 from the evolved collection was chosen in April 2016 as a GREEN AWARD 2016 Green Product Selection; to be nominated, entries must be produced in an environmentally-friendly way. The elegant, masculine form gives the Duett a refined note. The design is a blend of simple elegance and precision. The finest wood, here in Bog Oak | Walnut, is a natural material, vibrant, warm, and comfortable to wear.
German Brand Award
Accomplishment and hard work will always be rewarded. ROLF Spectacles has received this prestigious award for its creative in-house ideas implemented with a passion for perfection. ROLF Spectacles – synonymous with ground-breaking eyewear innovations and top-notch execution, from each frame to the related accessories, to the specially constructed trade fair booth – was recognized in June 2016 by the German Design Council for successful brand management with the GERMAN BRAND Award in the category „Industry Excellence in Branding”. ROLF Spectacles will be honored by a special jury for brand innovation, consistent brand management and sustainable brand communication, along with other individuals and companies that are pioneering in the world of brands.
